Objective of the KVPY Scholarship
The objective of the scholarship was to support mainstream science students to pursue a career in research. It provides fellowships in basic sciences. It aims to identify exceptionally talented students and assist them so that they can improve their skill set and contribute to the country’s scientific development.
Eligibility Criteria for KVPY Scholarship

They have to provide their 1st-year admission certificate in the concerned stream and course, once they are selected as a provisional beneficiary of the KVPY fellowship. 3. Fellowship will also be activated only if they secure at least 60% in Maths and Science subjects in their Class XII board examinations (50% for SC/ST or physically challenged students). |
KVPY Application Form – How to Submit online at kvpy.iisc.ernet.in?
- First of all, you need to go to the official KVPY website. You can use this link.
- From the homepage, you have to register using your credentials. Fill in all the information as required and submit it.
- Once registered, you will receive an OTP and user id in the registered phone number. Use these credentials to log in.
- After logging in, you need to pay the application fees. One has to make the payment only through the official website using a Credit card, Debit card, UPI, or Net Banking. Any other method of payment is not accepted. The application fee is Rs.1,250 for general and OBC students while its Rs.625 for SC/ST/PWD students.
Once the application fees have been successfully paid, no requests for refund will be considered. One must also note that the application process can be done only in online mode. No offline applications will be entertained.
KVPY Scholarship: Selection Process
You can appear for the test only if you meet the eligibility criteria. Eligible candidates have to appear for an aptitude test conducted in both English and Hindi mediums. The test is conducted in various centers across India. The KVPY Aptitude test will be held on 22nd May 2023. The details of the venues and the seat number of eligible students will be published in the KVPY portal.
Students appearing for the aptitude test must carry their Aadhar card and Photo ID proof on the examination day.
Once the aptitude test is over, the answers will be thoroughly scrutinized. Based on their performance, the selected students will have to appear for an interview. The interview round is the final step of the selection procedure.
