What is “Mera Ration” App?
The Government of India has recently launched an app called “Mera Ration”. It was launched under the discretion of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution of India. This app would help facilitate the “One Nation One Ration Card” or the ONORC system throughout the country. It would help the citizens in finding out the nearest shop at a fair price. This will be of huge help to especially those citizens who migrate to new locations within the country to sustain their livelihood.

Execution of the One Nation One Ration Card system makes sure that the beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) can avail of their ration. It also ensures that the citizens of India, especially the migrant population and their families can avail of this besides other welfare schemes at any Fair Price Shop (FPS) throughout the nation. The ONORC system was started initially in four states but has now been implemented in 34 states/union territories. It covers more than 70 crore beneficiaries in India.

The Mera Ration application is presently available only in Hindi and English. More additional functions will be introduced in the app with time and the app’s utility will be increased. But all this will be made available only with time. The application provides an additional benefit to migrant beneficiaries. They can update their migration details through the Mera Ration app. With the help of the app and the ONORC system, they can collect their share of essential food commodities to which they are entitled. Moreover, they can check the nearest Fair Price Shop from their location or collect the food grains from any FPS of their choice.
How to Apply Online for Mera Ration Card?
Follow these steps to download the Mera Ration app:
- You will need a working mobile phone with a stable internet connection.
- On your phone, go to the Google Play Store application.
- Tap on the icon to open it and make sure you are connected to the internet.
- Find the Search bar on the top of the screen, type “Mera Ration App” and tap on the search icon or simply click on – https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nic.onenationonecard&hl=en_IN&gl=US.
- Find the official application and tap on the option for “Install”.
- Wait till the download is complete. It might take up to several minutes if your connection is unsteady or if your signal strength is poor.
- When the download and installation process will be finished you can open the application from your phone.
How to Register online for Mera Ration App?
If you wish to register yourself on the Mera Ration app then follow these steps-
- Open the application on your mobile phone and tap on “Registration”.
- You will be asked to enter your Mera Ration Card number on the next page. Enter the number on the space provided for the same.
- You will be redirected to a screen showing Mera Ration Card details along with all your family members.
- Choose the migrant person and enter all the required details like state, district, migration form, phone number, etc.
- Click on “Submit” and you will be registered.
Steps to check Application Form through Mera Ration App?
Steps to check your entitlement through the Mera Ration application:
- Open the app and from the homepage, tap on the “know your entitlement” button.
- Enter either your Mera Ration Card number or your Aadhar card number.
- The complete information regarding the food commodities you are entitled to will be displayed on the next screen.
