How to get UP Police Character Certificate?
Follow the steps given below if you want to apply for the UP Police Character Certificate:
- First of all, you need to visit the official website. You can use this link for your convenience – uppolice.gov.in.
- On the homepage, you will find several tabs at the top. Click on the “Citizen Services” tab.
- From the drop-down list choose the “Character Verification” option.
- You will be redirected to a different page.
- On the right-hand side of the page, you will find an option to log in.
- Enter your name, password, and captcha, and then click on “Log in”.
- Once you have logged in, change your password and log in again.
- Then you will find the option to apply for a character verification certificate in online mode.
- Enter the details as required and make the necessary payment using the link given in the portal. You need to pay an application fee of Rs. 50 /-
- You need to wait for at least 15 days after the successful transaction of the application fees to receive your character certificate.
Documents Required for UPCOP Character Certificate
The documents required to apply for the UPCOP Character Certificate are as follows:

- Colored passport size photograph
- Ration Card
- Certificate issued by the Gram Panchayat or the Panchayat Pradhan

- You will then need to log in using your id and password. Make sure to use the same id and password that you created earlier.
- Once you have logged in, click on the “Search Status” option.
- From the drop-down menu, click on ‘Service Request’ option under ‘Select Application Type’.
- You will receive an OTP on the registered mobile number. Enter this OTP in the space provided.
- Then choose the year in which you applied and click on the ‘Submit’ button.
- After submitting, click on the ‘Download’ button to download your UPCOP Character Verification Certificate.
