Allowances provided to WBCS Officers
There are various allowances which are provided to officers belonging to different groups. The common allowances which are paid along with the basic salary for all the officers are:
- Dearness Allowance (D.A),
- Medical Allowance (M.A),
- House Rent Allowance (H.R.A).
Also, there are different types of allowances which are paid to the specific officers only. In case of travelling for Work, extra Travel Allowance (TA) & DA is provided as per the grade of posts.
Salary of Block Development Officer (BDO) in 2023
BDO is the most lucrative job among Group A posts recruited through WBCS examination conducted by West Bengal Public Service Commission. The Block Development Officer or BDO looks after the administration of a Block assigned to him / her. Thats why WBCS Group A Officers are entitled to extra allowances which are exclusive for them.
Basic Salary of BDO as per the 7th Pay Commission of is Rs 56,100. DA as per current date is 17%. HRA for WB Govt is 12%. So, the Gross Salary of BDO at the initial stage of joining will be around Rs. 70,000 to Rs. 75,000.

WBCS Officer In Hand Salary for All Posts
The in hand salary will be subjected to PF and Income Tax Deduction. After deduction, the salary of the WBCS Executive Officers will be around 5 to 8 thousand less than the In Hand Salary.
