How to Apply Online for Caste Certificate in West Bengal?

If you are a part of a scheduled caste, tribe, or any other backward class from West Bengal and do not have any certificate determining the same then follow the procedure below to apply for the certificate:

Step 1: Go to the official website of the Backward Class Welfare Department of West Bengal or simply click on this link – www.castcertificatewb.gov.in.

Step 2: Under the ‘Citizen’s corner’, click on the “Apply SC/ST/OBC” tab.

If you face any issue with the given link then click on the second link specified as “Apply SC/ST/OBC link 2” which will redirect you to oldsite.castcertificatewb.gov.in website.

Step 3: You will be required to provide some necessary information about the yourself. Some of them are –

• The district you belong to,
• your name,
• your father’s name,
• mobile number,
• either Epic number, Aadhar number or Khadya Sathi number,
• Address,
• Date of birth etc.

Fill up all the necessary details in the Application Form correctly.

Step 5: After filling in all the details asked for, click on “Save and Continue“.

Step 6: A page will appear on the screen asking for the applicant’s photograph, proof of citizenship, proof of residence in West Bengal, and so on.

Step 7: After filling up the necessary details click on ‘Submit’ and your application will be submitted to the BCWD.

3. A page will appear on the screen asking you to fill in your Application number and date of birth. 
4. Fill in the boxes and click on “Search“. Your application will open and you will now be able to edit the details as per your requirement.

If you want to view your application status you can follow this procedure –

1. Go to the official BCWD website or click on this link castcertificatewb.gov.in.
2. Click on the ”Application Status” option under the ‘Citizen’s corner’ or simply click on this link – https://castcertificatewb.gov.in/searchapplication/status.
3. A page asking for your application number will appear on the screen.
4. Enter the application number and click on “search“.

The status of your application will be displayed.

Steps to View Certificate

You can also view your certificate online by following the steps:

1. Go to https://castcertificatewb.gov.in/ at first.
2. Then, on the left hand menu, click on “View Certificate” which will redirect you to https://castcertificatewb.gov.in/searchapplication/viewcertificatedetails.
3. Now, enter your certificate number or search for the same by entering Old Certificate number and Year of issue & issuing authority or Name & Date of issue.
4. Next, click on the “Search” button.

In the next screen, you will be able to see your certificate, name, father’s name, caste along with the Certificate number.

If you applied for the certificate using the second link then click on https://oldsite.castcertificatewb.gov.in/jsp/search.jsp .
3. Enter your old and new certificate number, year and date of issue, name, and issuing authority on the respective spaces. Then click on ‘Search’.

Reprint your E Caste Certificate Application Form

If you want to reprint your application or acknowledgement slip then follow this procedure –

1. Go to the official BCWD website or click on this link https://castcertificatewb.gov.in.
2. Click on the “Reprint Application/Acknowledgement slip” tab under the ‘Citizen’s corner’ or simply click on this link – oldsite.castcertificatewb.gov.in/jsp/DuplicateApplication.jsp.
3. Enter your date of birth and application number. Click on ‘Search’. Your application will appear and thereafter you can choose the option to print the same.
