As per the State Government’s Order, electricity is counted as basic amenities of the citizens.
Through this scheme, Government of Karnataka is trying to provide affordable electricity to its residents. The scheme is applicable to all the household who are the residents of the state.
Eligibility Criteria for Gruha Jyothi Scheme
- Gruha Jyothi Scheme will not be applicable to those customers who are using commercial electricity connections.
- Beneficiary must have Aadhar Card and should have linked Aadhar Number with his Connection ID / Account ID.
- If the electricity user has multiple connections in his / her name, only one connection will be eligible for the facility under this scheme.
- Application Form will only be acceptable at Seva Sindhu portal. Application forms submitted through other ways will not be eligible.
Benefits of the Gruha Jyothi Scheme
Free 200 Units electricity will be given to the eligible electricity user. 200 Units will be deducted from the electricity bill and the user have to pay the residual bill.
If the bill is less than the eligible amount, such customer will be given zero bill.

Online application form submission has already begun from 18th June 2023. As per various official sources, approximately 8 Lakhs application forms have been received till date.
The last date of applying online is 5th July 2023. However, if you are willing to register for the scheme, do not delay as the online portal may close anytime after the last date is over.

- At first, Visit the Official portal of Seva Sindhu which is www.sevasindhugs.karnataka.gov.in.
- Then click on “ಗೃಹ ಜ್ಯೋತಿ” on the Seva Sindhu portal.
- Now, application for “GRUHA JYOTHI” Scheme will open.
- In the next page, enter your complete details such as – Preferred Language, ಬೆವಿಕಂ ಚಾವಿಸನಿನಿ ಜೆಸ್ಕಾಂ ಹೆಸ್ಕಾಂ ಮೆಸ್ಕಾಂ ಹುಕ್ಕೇರಿ ಸೊಸೈಟಿ ಖಾತೆ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ, ಖಾತೆದಾರರ ಹೆಸರು ಎಸ್ಕಾಂ ನಲ್ಲಿರುವಂತೆ, ಖಾತೆದಾರರ ವಿಳಾಸ ಎಸ್ಕಾಂ ನಲ್ಲಿರುವಂತೆ, ಬಳಕೆದಾರರ ವಿಧ, ಮಾಲೀಕರು ಬಾಡಿಗೆದಾರ ಕುಟುಂಬ ಸದಸ್ಯ ಆಧಾರ್ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ, ಅರ್ಜಿದಾರರ ಹೆಸರು, ಸಂವಹನಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ದೂರವಾಣಿ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ etc.
