Eligibility Criteria for Admission in Sikkim Govt College
- Admission will be provided on the basis of merit.
- The marks obtained by a candidate in the subject for which he/she has applied must be counted among the best subjects to calculate the student’s percentage received.
- If you wish to apply for vocational courses, then you need to have passed the test for the arts or commerce subjects you wish to apply for. Not only that, but you also need to have scored a minimum of 60% in that particular subject in order to be eligible.
- Students who are not permanent residents of Sikkim or do not hold the domicile certificate for Sikkim, need to have secured at least 70% in order to apply for admission.
Documents Required During Admission
- Marksheet of Class X and Class XII
- Admit cards of class X and Class XII
- Certificate of Migration or Transfer or Character certificate
- Four coloured passport size photographs of the applicant
- Domicile certificate
- RC, COI/SSC, other category certificates
- If you make the payment for application fees offline then the demand draft copy is also a mandatory document to be submitted.
- Differently abled applicants should submit an original and self-attested copy of their disability certificate.
Reservation Criteria
There are also some criteria for reservation on the basis of which students would be shortlisted for admission to the Sikkim Government College.
- Certificate of Identification or Sikkim subject holders would have 85% reservation in all government colleges across Sikkim.
- 10% of seats are reserved for students having a Domicile Certificate.
- 5% of the seats are reserved for non-local state government employees, central government employees, and army personnel.
- 3% of seats are reserved in the merit list for the differently-abled students for all courses in all the colleges of Sikkim.

- First of all, you need to go to the official website of the Sikkim Government College (SGC), Tadong.
- From the homepage, navigate to the option for logging in. If you did not register yourself earlier then you will need to register first before you can log in.
- Hover over the ‘College Administration’ tab. From the drop-down list, click on ‘Admission’.
- Select UG or PG Admission according to your requirement.
- You will find the link for the application form.
- Fill in the form with the required information like your personal, contact, and academic details.
- Then you will need to upload scanned copies of the documents required. Make sure to upload them in the prescribed format.
- Submit the application form and make the payment for the application.
- You will then receive your application number. Note it down for further reference.
