Admission under West Bengal State Council of Higher Education (WBSCHE) was expected to open a centralized Admission Portal for UG 2024-25 Session. The official portal www.wbsche.wb.gov.in will soon release a notice regarding the process & form fill up links for Admission in Colleges. Name of the College’s Centralized Admission Portal Website is not announced yet. However, this year centralized admission will not start.

Cancellation of Centralized Admission in West Bengal for 2024-25 Session
It is expected that the Centralized Admission Process for admission in Colleges of West Bengal may start in 2024-25 Session. WB College Centralized Admission Process was cancelled last year for 2022-23. Education Minister Shri Bratya Basu told that the Process of First Year College Admission for this academic year 2022-23 would be conducted as per previous year.
“পশ্চিমবঙ্গের কলেজগুলোতে ভর্তি প্রক্রিয়া এবছর সেন্ট্রালাইজড অর্থাৎ কেন্দ্রীয়ভাবে হওয়ার কথা ছিল। কিন্তু 28-6-2022 তারিখে শিক্ষামন্ত্রী ব্রাত্য বসু একটি প্রেস কনফারেন্সের মাধ্যমে জানিয়ে দিয়েছেন যে কলেজে ভর্তির প্রক্রিয়া টি এ বছর পূর্বের নিয়মে হবে। কেন্দ্রীয়ভাবে Admission প্রক্রিয়ার জন্য website (portal) এখনও তৈরি হয়নি যার ফলে এবছর কেন্দ্রীয়ভাবে অনলাইন ভর্তির প্রক্রিয়া শুরু করা যাবে না। পূর্নবাসনের নিয়মেই ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের ভর্তির জন্য নির্দিষ্ট কলেজের ওয়েবসাইটে আবেদন করতে হবে। শিক্ষা মন্ত্রী জানিয়েছেন যে পশ্চিমবঙ্গের সরকারি কলেজ গুলিতে ভর্তির প্রক্রিয়া খুব শীঘ্রই শুরু হতে চলেছে।”

How to Fill up WBCHSE College 1st Year Online Application Form?
The process to know the different colleges under the WB state government:
- Firstly, you will need to visit the official website. The official portal for Centralized Admission in Colleges will be declared by the WB Govt soon.
- On the homepage, hover over the ‘Colleges’ tab. You will see a drop-down list with three options – degree colleges, engineering and technical colleges, and law colleges.
- Choose any one option from the drop-down list according to your preference.
- You will then be able to view the list of all colleges under every government-affiliated university in West Bengal.
- You can then shortlist the colleges that suit you best according to your choice of career, location, and so on.
Eligibility criteria for Admission in Colleges in West Bengal
- The applicant must have passed higher secondary from a recognized board.
- He/she must have secured at least 50% in the 10+2 level examinations. However, for SC/ST/OBC/PH/Ex-Serviceman category students, there is a relaxation of 5%.
- The student must have studied the language which is his/her chosen medium of language in college. English should be the second language.
- A student belonging to the general category should not be more than 35 years of age while applying for admission in WB Govt Colleges. For SC/ST students the age limit is 40 years while for OBC students, it is 35.
Despite being under the same state government or the same university, the Centralized admission dates might differ. Thus, keep a lookout on the official websites of your shortlisted colleges. As soon as they begin accepting applications their websites will be updated.

WB Government College Admission New Process
- Once the colleges start accepting applications for the current session, there will be a new option to apply for the current session on the college websites. Click on the option.
- A page containing the application form will appear.
- Fill in all the required details and upload the documents mentioned earlier. Make sure to upload them in the specific format and size asked.
- After filling up the form, you will be required to enter your class X and class XII marks in a table. Only if you are eligible, would you be permitted to proceed with the application.
- If you are eligible, you can choose your preferred course and pay the WB College Admission Online application form fill up fees.
You will be shown your application id and other such details once the fees is successfully paid. Make a note of them for further reference.
