Eligibility criteria for Inter-Caste Marriage Scheme Benefits
The government has fixed some eligibility criteria for this scheme. The eligibility criteria are as follows:
- In Inter-caste marriage, in which one of the spouses should belong to the Schedule Caste and the other should belong to the non-Schedule Caste.
- The marriage should be registered under the Hindu Marriage Act 1955 and should be under government law. For legally married proof, the couple should submit an affidavit should be submitted.
- In the case of a second and subsequent marriage, the couple will not get the benefit of the scheme.
- The proposal is only accepted within a year of marriage.
- In case of giving false information during registration to the authority, should be punishable by the law.
Objective of Inter Caste Marriage Scheme
The goal of the plan is to thank the couple for being brave enough to marry outside of their caste and to give them money to help them get settled in the early stages of their marriage. It is made clear that it should not be interpreted as a supplement to an employment generation or poverty alleviation scheme.
Financial assistance for inter-caste marriage
The government provides a one-time financial assistance of Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 35,000 to eligible inter-caste couples. At the time of receiving the amount, the couple should sign an agreement and also submit LSGI. The money is used to start a new business, build a house, or buy land. The LSGI is required to check whether the given money is used for the purpose mentioned above or not.

- For getting the benefits of Inter Caste Marriage Scheme the couple needs to have all important documents like an aadhar card, income certificate, marriage photo, marriage registration certificate, and other things. To apply online the couples should follow the below procedure, they are as follows:
- Firstly the couple has to complete their registration process with the help of an online site. Fill out the application form with the important information demanded. An aadhar card is required for the completion process.
- After registration, an SMS will send to the couple’s registration number for authorization. The acknowledgment should be printed for application form proof.
- The verification is done by a Social Welfare representative for verifying whether the details entered by the application form are correct or not.
- After verification on the spot, the couples will get their scheme amount in a joint account of husband and wife. The amount is credited in installments.
- The combined income of the couple should not exceed 50,000 rupees.
