Functions of RTO in West Bengal
The RTO (Regional Transport Office) services West Bengal provides services of issuing the license to people of the age group of 18 and above to drive any kind of vehicle as per the rules and under the guidelines and policies of the transportation corporation department. Moreover, they provide learning licenses along with training to drive vehicles above 16 years of age.
The RTO itself provides a certificate for pollution control checks of vehicles. Any changes or genuine editing of addresses or personal details mentioned in the license can be changed, updated, or renewed by the RTO department.
To maintain safety and discipline, the RTO issues a learning license to 16 year’s age person only after a test driving. Also, a driving test is done for obtaining and issuing a driving license. After a physical inspection of vehicles, RTO registers the vehicles under a no objection certificate.
